The Brian Othmer Foundation was created in loving memory of Brian Othmer
1968-1991. The Brian Othmer Foundation began in January of 2002 when
Susan and Siegfried Othmer and their son Kurt Othmer left their former
company EEG Spectrum to more fully pursue their dream to research and
explore neurofeedback as a technology, and to tell the world of it's
existence. Towards that end, the foundation was created with the nonprofit
objectives of research, education and clinical services in neurofeedback.
The seminal wish behind the nonprofit foundation is that a parent
of an epileptic child, or similarly afflicted problem child, should
have the opportunity to try neurofeedback, and at the very least the
awareness that neurofeedback exists and well established in research
and studies. In searching for therapies for Brian, Sue and Siegfried
did not find neurofeedback until Brian was almost 17 years old. With
a technique this successful, a family with an epileptic child should
not have to wait that long to find out about neurofeedback and will
hopeful at least know that neurofeedback is an option to try.
Today, the Brian Othmer Foundation is endeavoring on its objectives
through several projects that are currently seeking grant approval.
